The one catch about making an alternate history setting that always gets me eventually is that failing to mention certain events, and/or changing them in certain ways would make people *very* upset. In some ways, it would help if they would tell me that it's okay to not mention it.

Rather than go on delirious despairing rants, it's better to just stay silent and bottle everything up.
